Hysteroscopy is the inspection of the uterine cavity by endoscopy with access through the cervix. It allows for the diagnosis of intrauterine pathology and serves as a method for surgical intervention. A hysteroscopy is a procedure used to examine the inside of the womb. It's carried out using a hysteroscope, which is a narrow telescope with a light and camera at the end. Images are sent to a monitor so your doctor or specialist nurse can see inside your womb. A hysteroscope is passed into your womb – you may experience some cramping and discomfort as it passes through your cervix. fluid is gently pumped into the womb to make it easier for your doctor to see inside.
