A sexually transmitted infection called the human papillomavirus (HPV) is linked to the majority of cases of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer and other HPV-related cancers may be less common worldwide if the HPV vaccination is widely administered. The majority of occurrences of cervical cancer are linked to different HPV strains, which are transmitted through sexual contact. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized the HPV vaccine Gardasil 9, which is suitable for both girls and boys. If given before girls or women are exposed to the virus, this vaccination can prevent the majority of cases of cervical cancer. The vaccine can also shield both men and women from genital warts, anal cancer, and mouth, throat, head, and neck malignancies. In principle, immunizing boys against the HPV strains linked to cervical cancer could also help protect girls from the virus by possibly reducing transmission. Between the ages of 11 and 12, both boys and girls should receive the HPV vaccine. It can be administered as young as age 9. The vaccine might not be as effective once someone has an HPV infection. Additionally, younger ages have a better response to the vaccine than older ages do. For a vaccine for cervical cancer treatment, visit Dr. Akanksha Setya's clinic.
